About the Brand
In 1927, Edwin Perkins modified his popular soft drink syrup, Fruit Smack, it into a powder, packaged it, and changed the name to Kool-Ade. The name soon changed to Kool-Aid. At that time, a glass of Kool-Aid cost less than a penny. Today, it is still a bargain, costing less than a nickel a glass and beating the rate of inflation since 1947.
